Not a bad take on comparing it to the big boxes of old. As the developed world has devolved into a socio-economic chasm reminiscent of the end of the Belle Epoque, the untouchable elite can now choose a similar car. These should probably all be armored from the factory. Or maybe it’s cool that they aren’t.

I don’t know, maybe it’s just age taking over, but since leaving high school my interest in vehicles made from unobtanium has dwindled down to nothing.

Mine has too, I just felt like RR needed some defense. Ferrari ad Lamborghini have no business in tis market, but once you start bashing on a company that built themselves up on these bigly things, that’s where the buck stops. Unobtamium vehicles are a heck of a lot of fun to drive though.

I’d be embarrassed to drive (or be driven in) this, to be honest - too showy, and you make yourself a target. This is maybe just a step below a 770K or a 600 Landaulet in terms of sticking it to the proles. Any vintage Phantom is infinitely classier.

Where I live, this is just another car half the time haha. Not because there’s that many expensive cars, but because a lot of people just want a nice car and don’t care about others. To counter my first point though, my DOTS post yesterday was a highlighter Aventador SV, followed by an A7, followed by a Mas. The Rolls would just fit in with every other SUV.

I feel the same way. Some of it for me is lusting after things I can/could afford at some point vs. things I know I’d never be able to afford, or not be willing to hand over all that cash at once (let’s say I saved for years for a $120k car, or something).

Additionally, I worked for a country club in college as a bag room guy just to get by when I wasn’t on a co-op. You see so many high dollar cars in the lot over time you just become numb. Meanwhile, I made minimum wage...lol

I don’t know, this is another level even above a high spec Lambo, and an A7 or trust fund devilspawn Maserati is a 2001 Rio in comparison. I too live in an inordinately monied area (ask no questions about the origins or lack of taxes surrounding said money), and this would be a bit much even here, where late model Ferraris and Lambos are a daily sight, and a Bentayga won’t turn heads - it is subtle in comparison.

Things like that are one reason I’m fine not living in the south. They exist in outlying areas up here, but are virtually unknown in the city - if you see one on the road, you can safely wager the driver is a visitor.

I suppose on some level this is the Cullinan of that demographic.

Exactly. The people that are too rich for a truck around here will get the Cullinan. I really don’t the mind the brodozers personally, but it is funny. I’ve even seen a G550^2 running around. ToddinTN and I were laughing one day because I saw every special edition F150 in one day. Raptor, Shelby, Roush, and Tonka.

Or those without Cullinan means but still want to look like a dbag will get the brodozer - the Cullinan of the “manager” working for dad’s mildly successful contracting company, perhaps. Brodozers are often driven aggressively here, especially for their ponderous handling ability, and in an ideal world would require a license endorsement. For that alone, I can’t be a fan.

A local exotic rental firm has a G squared, I wonder how many Cullinan will end up in similar situations. That’s one downfall of such vehicles - many will assume they are rentals.

I think the cullinan is precisely the kind of car that will appeal to the people around my house. I see tons of ghosts and bentaygas, and this is pretty much the best of both of those. Do you know when they hit showrooms?
